JAMISON ROSS ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM, JAMO, RELEASING SEPTEMBER 2, 2022 VIA AFFECTIVE MUSIC

THE ALBUM INCLUDES FEATURES BY PJ MORTON, TARRIONA “TANK” BALL, AVERY*SUNSHINE & KEYON HARROLD

Los Angeles, CA – Jamison Ross will release his third studio album, JAMO, on September 2nd, 2022, via Affective Music. Four-plus years after the release of All For One (Concord Jazz) and his GRAMMY-nominated debut, Jamison, JAMO is Jamison’s artistry evolved and an expression of male vulnerability through the filter of soul music. The 10-song features collaborations with PJ Morton, Tarriona “Tank” Ball, Avery*Sunshine and Keyon Harrold.

 

JAMO is his first release on via the indie label, Affective Music, which he heads with business partner, friend and executive producer David S. Hargrett. The album, is a pandemic project, influenced by some of history’s greatest Soul singers, including Marvin Gaye, Rance Allen, and Al Green. The music is best described as “contemporary soul” emanating from the intersection of R&B, gospel, and blues supported by modern production, led by Ross and John Michael Rouchell. “Like many, the pandemic forced me to examine myself as a person and an artist. Additionally, moving from a label deal to my own label, gave me a new-found freedom. The result is, JAMO – it’s the most vulnerable I’ve ever been on a recording.” said Jamison.

 

A multi-hyphenate musical creative, between releases, Jamison toured an act on India.Arie’s Worthy tour, earned his second GRAMMY-nomination, as the producer of Mykal Kilgore’s debut single, Let Me Go, toured and recorded as a member of Snarky Puppy and appeared as a featured artist on releases from Tank and the Bangas (Cafe Du Monde) and The Baylor Project (Only Believe).
