Jamison Ross named Head of A&R at Affective Music

Affective Music has appointed 2x GRAMMY nominee Jamison Ross as its Head of A&R. In this role, Ross will focus on artist development, building a talent pipeline, and overseeing creative strategy. Ross earned GRAMMY nominations for Best Jazz Vocal Album for his debut album “Jamison” released on Concord Records, and as the producer of Mykal Kilgore’s album “A Man Born Black”, for which the single “Let Me Go” earned a nod for Best Traditional R&B Performance.

When Affective Music CEO David S. Hargrett was asked about Ross’s appointment, he stated, “Affective Music is a result of Jamison’s vision — he saw it before I did, so it only makes sense that he leads A&R for us. I trust him, we are here because of him.” Hargrett continued by saying, “Much of iconic Black music can be attributed to creative pairs, Holland & Dozier, L.A. Reid & Babyface, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, and now Jamison Ross & David S.”

“We are onto something special at Affective Music, and as both an artist and the Head of A&R it feels good to be part of the beginnings of a company that will be instrumental in defining soul music for this era,” said Jamison.
