MYKAL KILGORE IS FIRST OPENLY GAY ARTIST TO BE NOMINATED IN THE GRAMMYs BEST TRADITIONAL R&B PERFORMANCE CATEGORY
Los Angeles, CA (November 24th, 2020) – Singer, songwriter, artist and activist Mykal Kilgore has made history as the first openly gay, male artist to earn a nomination in the GRAMMYs Best Traditional R&B category. Kilgore received the nomination for his single, “Let Me Go”, which is the first release from his debut album, A Man Born Black. This is Mykal’s first GRAMMY nomination. The live show is scheduled for Sunday, January 31st on CBS.

Mykal Kilgore Launches Singer's Comprehension Series Amid COVID-19 Lockdown
Chicago, IL (July 21, 2020) — Affective Music singer Mykal Kilgore has decided to give back to his fans and share his musical expertise via Instagram’s live video feature. Airing every Tuesday and Thursday evening at 8 p.m. EST, “Singer’s Comprehension” will feature some of Kilgore’s closest friends and colleagues in the music industry. He describes this innovative course as “a series of conversations with my favorite vocal artists where we discuss the craft of singing and storytelling through song.” Each installment will feature a new guest star who brings fresh insight into the art of song alongside Mykal.
Although the full list of guests has not yet been released, Kilgore informs his followers of guest appearances via Instagram in the days prior to the session.
Kilgore’s “Singer Comprehension” series will run until October.
